Swype to type

The creators from T9 come with a new text-input technology

According to Swype that’s the easiest and quickest way to enter text on touchscreen interface. The user can enter text by sweeping across the screen. When the screen is released, a space is automatically added.

Swype is invented by the same people that came up with T9 (Predictive text) which allowed us to type words with an incredible speed using only 8 buttons. Swype does use the predictive text technology but is meant for a full qwerty keyboard. Now of course you can ask yourself if typing with 26 keys really is quicker than 8, but first sounds are promising.

  1. Ok so from the test in the video it seems to be that people with no idea on how does the device works, got it to work in approx. less than a minute or two…
that in my opinion is pretty fast.

Now the hing is i have being curious in trying it and i asked for the beta version already. There is no answer yet about it.

I believe that swype can become a great device if its introduce correctly on the good market cause this device and application is not to be used in every mobile phone… this is a really advance way of easy testing with a touch sensible mobile phone.

  2. Niels on

I have seen the video before on the web and the technology is really impressive. Besides saving a lot of time it could actually help people to make less mistakes in their writing. In the end it does what is supposed to do: ‘help people to achieve their goals quickly in a pleasurable way’.

    I am Dutch too btw.
    Cheers.
