Leave your comments behind, anywhere

Let’s experiment. Place your bubble comments.

A lot of people love to share their thoughts with other people. On websites this has been translated into chatboxes, forum, replies and many other ways to store information. But it has always been structured and put on the place where the designer wanted it… but what if you could put your thoughts wherever you liked? It can be done with digital sticky notes, but that is soooo 1999. In the era of Youtube we want to leave videos behind, and thankfully it’s possible.

Bubble Comment
is a new service enabling everybody with a webcam to leave his message on any website in the world. Just type in a website, start up your webcam and begin recording your important message. Of course I tried it out, so check my message out. I have to admit.. at first it’s really strange leaving a message behind, especially hearing yourself talk (in English). But the promise of an experiment always wins my discussions…

It’s a really interesting way of commenting on a website. Unfortunately it’s not yet possible to use it as a community. You can only view one message on a website, not all messages left behind by different people. But of course this is the next step, leaving your video graffiti behind with others. Then you comment on each other and find new ways of interacting with content and people.

But for now.. let’s experiment: place your bubble comment on Johnny Holland and give us your thoughts on this new way of interacting. And as Johnny would say: be honest.

  1. Tried to leave a bubble comment but it didn’t detect my webcam, maybe cause of my dual monitor set up? no idea. Bummer.

But I love the idea, it’s seems like a crazy idea – but so was filming yourself for YouTube 5 years ago, now everyone is doing it.

  2. @joel: I had the same problem at first… it worked fine when I changed the driver

@kevin: You’ve got a got a nice tool there. I’m wondering what our readers think of it.
But it’s still pretty lonely… are there any social features coming up?

My McAfee popped up saying that it blocked a trojan. If I go do restore, check the box that lists the trojan, then go to delete as an action, will that completely remove it from my computer?

Hi there. I would like to know what the following: ZoneAlarm, and Windows Defender will do for my laptop. I already have avast! 4 Home Edition installed, and would like to enhance my laptop’s security. And that’s why I would like to know what ZoneAlarm and Windows Defender will do, what else do they cover? What parts of my laptop do they protect and so on, for instance, internet security or the laptop itself? If you know what I mean. I’d just like to know because avast! is great, they are a very good anti-virus software, I’ve been using them for around a month or two, or more, and they have been brilliant. I’m just wondering because I’ve heard that ZoneAlarm and Windows Defender are two other great softwares that can enhance and improve someone’s laptop (or even computer). I’m very happy with avast! at the moment, they are doing a great job in protecting my laptop. But I wouldn’t mind knowing what else I can do with ZoneAlarm and Windows Defender. If there are other options too, other than ZoneAlarm and Windows Defender, please do let me know, as I would look into them more. So, please, let me know what ZoneAlarm and Windows Defender’s functions are, and what role they play. Thank you.
