Thank you, Mikkel. When working in such a professional space, to a large extent depends on an interface, I want to know when the system is more superior knowledge become the potential of knowledge. For example, if a monitoring system is offline for some reason, how do practical work that individual manual? A bit like doing calculations differences between long with a hand a calculator.

Thank you, Janna. Yes, specialized task environments have multiple redundant systems or backup systems, but either way, user must know the actual operational basics. System knowledge is added. For instance, should an ATC terminal break down, the operator must be able to guide and control through a manually operated radio system. Users need the required training even though an advanced system might automate many tasks. Anyway, that is my experience from working with users in these arenas.

Thanks for this, Mikkel. When working in such a specialized space that relies heavily on an interface, I wonder when the system knowledge becomes more predominant than the underlying knowledge. For example, if a monitoring system went offline for some reason, would the individuals remember how to do the actual tasks manually? Kind of like the difference between doing calculus long hand versus having a calculator to use.
