The only way you can guide people through any experience is by knowing the people. UXD is NOT being a Web tour guide, you need to really empathize and "know" your audience and their capabilities. I love how you intertwine your experiences with delinquents, and bring those learning and teaching skills and apply them into your present work. I worked for the Ministry of Correctional Services while going to university - and ironically, worked in research for the "Scared Straight" program. I didn't take away half of what you did.
