Industries that have benefited from the rise of online services and remote lifestyles in America

In the last couple of years, we have seen a significant shake-up in how many things we do daily are done. From not having to go into the office as much as we have found we can work from home to ordering more stuff online, the rise in online services has been massive. While there are still some challenges, especially when it comes to working from home, we are still seeing increased productivity across the board.

Being able to work remotely has benefited a lot of industries in the past few years. Companies are spending less on renting buildings, people are happier and as such, more work ends up getting done. However, working from home does mean you need to have good time management skills and it is also helpful if you know how to choose the right laptop to work from home with.

With that being said, let’s take a look at a few of the industries that are benefitting from the rise of online services and the remote working lifestyle in America.

Technology

While we won’t go into specific parts of this industry, the tech industry distributes, designs, and manufactures electronic devices. This industry is also responsible for software and web design, both of which have greatly benefited from the current remote lifestyle and working environments.

Not only has the Tech industry seen some great advancements, but it is also responsible for most people being able to work from home. Most remote jobs are done VIA a laptop, phone, or some type of computer and you can thank the tech industry for that. There are loads of ways technology can help your business as well and even make things easier for you.

Online Gaming

The online gaming industry has grown exponentially since the rise of Covid. With people not wanting to go out as much, they needed a way to interact with others, and what better way to do so than online? Online gaming is a great escape from the real world as they say and can be loads of fun. Also, there are a number of games you can play. You can find everything from FPS, RPG, Bingo, Simulations, Casino games, and much, much more.

One of the biggest areas of online gaming that has been impacted by the rise of online services is the iGaming sector. iGaming generally refers to the gambling and casino side of online gaming. While online casino games were already being legalized in some states, the rise of Covid allowed this to happen even quicker as companies needed to continue their growth and make up for lost revenue from having to close their brick-and-mortar shops.

The great thing about being online is you can have a team of people from all over the world helping you and it can also make launching new games and products easier. One of the most recent iGaming launches was the Caesars Online Casino launch in Michigan, which is just one of many online casinos we have seen launched in the last couple of years across America.

While Caesars will have had to wait for the state of Michigan to give them the green light to launch, as they are set up already in other states this process is generally more of a waiting game than anything else. Each state has its own set of laws and legislation and as time goes on, we are seeing more states accept that iGaming is a lucrative market.

Online Retail

This was, and probably still is one of the most affected areas when it comes to online services. While online retail is nothing new, it saw a ridiculous increase in profits during covid and the trend is still going strong!

I mean, why go out and have to walk around the shops when you can simply look something up online and have it delivered the next day, or even the same day depending on where you live? Being able to shop for food, clothes, electronics, and pretty much anything you need online has become a way of life for many. It is so popular now that a lot of clothing-based retailers offer free returns within 10-14 in case you have ordered the wrong size.

While there is a couple of downsides such as not being able to try things on or see them in person, companies are doing their best to combat this and the industry as a whole is still continuing to grow with no signs of stopping anytime soon.

Finance and Insurance

While you may not think of it much, the Finance and Insurance industry was always ready for a more remote lifestyle. When speaking with those that work in either sector, it is generally something you want to keep private and not have a bunch of people hearing. Meaning, that having a phone call or private video chat over the likes of zoom or similar is highly beneficial.

As with most industries these days, they have seen that the need for cramming mass amounts of people into little cubicles in an office just for the sake of doing so is no longer needed. They are also having great success from being able to offer a more private and personal experience for their clients, something which I am sure we can all appreciate.

Final Words

While we have only covered a few of the industries that have benefited from a more remote lifestyle thanks to the rise of more online services, there is no denying the massive change it has had in America. While it may not be for everyone and some may even try to fight it, it is only a matter of time before even more industries take advantage of online services and a remote working lifestyle.

Remote working has created a lot of opportunities for companies and people alike and we are really starting to see less of a need for massive office buildings.
